Meet Erich

Erich McElroy,
Co-Founder, Creative Director & Your Facilitator

Erich combines the instincts of a professional stand-up comedian with decades of experience designing and delivering training for senior professionals. He is the owner of Crack Comedy Club, where he produces and runs a practical stand-up comedy programme that develops performers’ confidence, storytelling and audience connection.

A regular media commentator on politics, culture, and comedy, Erich has appeared on major broadcasters including BBC, Sky News, NPR, TalkTV and TalkRadio. He has also written and performed six solo shows that have enjoyed sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Alongside his career in comedy and broadcasting, Erich brings 30 years of experience working in higher education. He advises universities across Europe on navigating US federal loan programmes, translating complex regulatory frameworks into practical guidance. He designs and delivers training programmes for senior university leaders, including finance directors and CFOs.

An experienced public speaker and curriculum designer, Erich brings together the disciplines of performance, education, and communication to create highly engaging learning experiences. Through Humour InCorporated, he works with organisations including HSBC and London Business School, helping leaders develop the confidence, presence, and communication skills needed to build stronger, more connected workplaces.

Edinburgh Shows

While his six full Edinburgh shows have taken a turn for the political (“This is political stand-up at its best." BroadwayBaby) it’s his “modest, slightly bookish, charm and genuine affection for the UK” (Chortle) that makes him stand out.

Radio Shows

Erich has appeared on Scotland’s foremost BBC radio topical show “Breaking the News” as well as providing humorous political commentary on places such as the BBC, Sky, Newsnight and on his own podcast American Exchange.

In addition to playing playing UK venues up and down the country, Erich has appeared on BBC Breakfast, Newsnight, Sky News and Five News.
